Zu den Pflichten eines Turnback-Pferdes gehört es, den ganzen Tag über zuverlässig zu sein, lange angebunden zu stehen, cowy zu sein (ein Begriff, der ein Pferd mit gutem Kuhsinn beschreibt), broke zu sein, auffällig zu sein und insgesamt ein ruhiges Verhalten zu haben.
